Ryan was keen for us to create a design in the Mammen style to depict a Viking berserker warrior. Nadine has taken this theme and the final piece depicts the warrior becoming a bear on Ryan’s chest.
The influence for the design as a whole comes from the Cammin and Bamberg caskets which are two of the most beautifully examples of the Mammen art style.
