What information we will ask for
During the course of our association, for any items ordered through our online shop, we will request personal information from you which could include:
- Name and address.
- Contact information including email address.
For any tattoos booked through the website, we may also request you to send photographs showing the area you wish to be tattooed or pictures of existing tattoos.
We will only ever ask you for information that is essential for us processing your order and in particular for the following reasons:
- Primarily for contacting you regarding any issues directly relating to your order.
- Internal record keeping.
We may use the information to improve our products and services. We may occasionally send promotional emails about new products, special offers or other information which we think you may find interesting using the email address which you have provided.
We do not store any payment information for our clients. All payments are processed through PayPal, by cheque or by bank transfer where we do not have access to your card details.
Who has access to your information
Each of these businesses understand the importance we place on our customer’s privacy and have agreed that any contact they have with your information will be strictly based on carrying out their essential duties and that they may not keep any records themselves.
Any personal information shared during the booking of a tattoo is private and confidential and will not be shared with any third parties for any reason unless explicitly agreed.
How we store your information
All consent forms are stored online through our Signable account. Signable are a Data Processor only. Sacred Knot Tattoo Ltd is a Data Controller and when we delete data from our Signable account, it will be deleted on their systems, as well as on any 3rd party systems that they use. We do not keep any hard copies of your consent form.
Clients who have chosen to join our mailing list will have their email addresses stored on our website and nowhere else. Access to this is password protected and we will never share or sell your contact information to a third party. Our mailing list is a strictly opt-in system and by subscribing to our mailing list you agree to let us contact you from time to time with news of offers, sales and new designs. You will remain on our mailing list until such a time as you indicate that you no longer wish to be contacted by us. You can do this by clicking “unsubscribe” at the bottom of our newsletter or contacting us at any time at firstname.lastname@example.org. At this point your email address will be permanently deleted.
Requests for deletion of your data
If you decide that you no longer wish us to keep some or all of the data we have from your order/s then simply email email@example.com and tell us what information you would like securely deleted. Please note that for tax purposes we will have to store your invoices and records of your payments for 5 years after the end of the tax year they relate to. For example, a payment made in May 2018 will be stored until the end of January 2025.
You can also request a copy of any and all information stored about you. Again, simply email firstname.lastname@example.org. This service is free and we will meet your request within 1 calendar month.
